The SMS Union is a sanitary fitting designed in accordance with the SMS 1145 standard.  A set of SMS unions comprises a welding male part, a seal, a welding liner or an end cap, and a nut to provide a leak-proof seal.  The metal components are available in stainless steel 304, 316, and 316L.  The seal materials include EPDM, silicone, and others.
